The area

Ouveillan is a Minervois wine village between Narbonne and Béziers, its parish edged by the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Market on Tuesday and Friday mornings, a bike ride along the canal 10 minutes away, Sunday morning at the Halles of Narbonne, open since 1901, and the beaches of Gruissan 35 minutes away.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French company for all-inclusive weddings. With Émilie and the whole team, we're already planning weddings for 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Château du Terral cost?

From €58,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you get it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once you agree, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, or something you add along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can't make it?

We replace them. They're our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd's. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can't be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the château directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The château rents you its estate from Friday to Sunday, with its 25 beds, and opens its address book. You then bring together the caterer, the drinks, the decor and the music. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the château keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 350, seated for dinner in the park. For the vows, the cypress alley takes up to 200 guests and the 1909 chapel about 30. And 25 of you sleep on the estate, in the château and its guest house.

Which dates are still free?

Tell us your date, we check with the château and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes: at the end of the cypress alley, with the best view of the château, or on the lawns of the park. For your 30 closest, the 1909 chapel. You choose who marries you and what gets said.

Can we have our civil wedding in Ouveillan?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the château. Ouveillan town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the château.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Béziers airport is 40 minutes away, Montpellier airport 1 h 15, and the Narbonne and Béziers stations 30 minutes. 25 of them sleep on the estate, everyone parks inside it, and for the others we share the best addresses nearby.

How do our guests get back after the party?

25 of them simply go to bed on the estate, in the château and its guest house. For the others, Narbonne is 20 minutes away. We give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.

Where do we get ready?

In the bridal suite upstairs, its windows looking over the park and the estate. Then the first photos in the grand hall, the salons, the dining room or the chapel, before you walk out to the cypress alley.

Can we bring our own wines?

Yes, the château charges no corkage, and imposes no caterer. The wine of your home region, a friend's bottles, a cuvée from the Minervois next door: we build them into the dinner, with the caterer you choose with us.

Why is there a château in the middle of the vines?

It is a château pinardier, built between 1889 and 1909 by a Minervois wine grower, when Languedoc wine made fortunes. In the Middle Ages the land was a grange of the Cistercian abbey of Fontfroide, 30 minutes away. The château has been a protected historic monument since 2005.
