Silkworms were once raised here for the weavers of Lyon. Today the long silkworm house glows under string lights for your dinner, in a century-old park crossed by a river. On the Rhône, between Orange and Montélimar, with 42 of your people sleeping on the estate. On the way home, everyone will still be talking about the giant sequoias.

The area

The estate lies in Lamotte-du-Rhône, a village on the Rhône at the gates of the Drôme provençale. Ten minutes away, Pont-Saint-Esprit and its bridge over the Rhône, finished in 1309; its market is on Saturday morning. The Roman theatre of Orange is half an hour away, the cellars of Châteauneuf-du-Pape a little further.

Fervenza is a French company for all-inclusive weddings. With Émilie and the whole team, we're already planning weddings for 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Domaine des Barrenques cost?

From €51,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you get it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once you agree, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, or something you add along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can't make it?

We replace them. They're our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd's. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can't be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the estate directly?

You can, it's a lovely house. The estate rents you its spaces and the dinner tables. You then bring together the caterer and its service, the drinks, the ceremony chairs, the DJ, the flowers and the babysitters. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the estate keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

From 10 to 198. The Magnanerie seats up to 198, its upper room 120. 42 guests sleep on the estate, and four holiday houses close by add about a hundred more beds.

Which dates are still free?

The estate hosts weddings from March to October, and Saturdays from May to October are the most sought after. Tell us your date, we check with Domaine des Barrenques and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes: under the cathedral of plane trees, in a clearing of the park or facing Mont Ventoux. If the sky turns grey, in the Magnanerie, open onto the park, or under the nomad tent. Your words, your officiant, your people around you.

Can we have our civil wedding in Lamotte-du-Rhône?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the estate. Lamotte-du-Rhône town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the estate.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Marseille Provence airport is 1 h 15 away. The TGV stops at Avignon, 40 minutes away, and at Montélimar, 30; the local station, Bollène-la-Croisière, is 7 minutes away. And 42 of your guests sleep on site.

How do our guests get back after the party?

42 of them just walk to their room. For the others, the holiday houses we suggest are in Lamotte-du-Rhône, Pont-Saint-Esprit and Bollène, ten minutes or so away. We give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Where do we get ready?

At the château, in its wedding suite, spacious and full of light. Your wedding party and family get ready in the château's rooms or the houses of the park, a few steps away.

And the July heat?

The park is shaded by very tall trees, the ceremony takes place in late afternoon under the plane trees, and the Magnanerie is air-conditioned for the party. Two pools, one of them heated early and late in the season, for the next day.

Can we bring the children?

Yes, and they have their own corner: a children's area and a play area in the park, and the mill room can become theirs during dinner. The estate asks for babysitters to look after them during the party: we plan them with you.
