Around 1900, back from their honeymoon in Italy, a husband had this villa built for his wife. The tower, the balustrades, the old plane trees, the pool with its black and white striped floor: all yours for a whole weekend, on the edge of Montpellier. The area

The estate lies in Mauguio, between Montpellier and the Étang de l'Or, a Natura 2000 lagoon where pink flamingos feed. For those who arrive early: the Place de la Comédie and the Musée Fabre fifteen minutes away, the beach at Carnon ten, a canoe on the lagoon, Mauguio's big market on Sunday morning and Carnon's on Saturday, by the harbour.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French company for all-inclusive weddings. With Émilie and the whole team, we're already planning weddings for 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Château La Banquière cost?

From €100,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you get it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once you agree, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, or something you add along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can't make it?

We replace them. They're our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd's. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can't be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the château directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The château rents you its estate for the weekend and leaves you free to choose your caterer. You bring together the caterer, the drinks, the flowers, the decor, the music, the photographer and the running of the day. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the château keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 250 at the table in the great hall, and 90 in the château's salons for a smaller dinner. For the party, the great hall welcomes up to 350 people, and 25 bedrooms keep your guests on site.

Will the estate be ours alone?

Yes. The château, the village and the cottage can be hired privately in full, and the estate hosts only one event a day. We have the château confirm it in writing for your weekend.

Which dates are still free?

Tell us your date, we check with Château La Banquière and reply in writing. Good to know: from Monday to Thursday, and from November to March, the château's rates are gentler, and your price follows.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes: in the park, in the shade of the century-old trees, or in the estate's small chapel for a closer circle. Your words, your officiant, your people around you.

Can we have our civil wedding in Mauguio?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the château. Mauguio town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the château.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Very: Montpellier airport is 5 minutes away, with direct flights from London all year round, just under 2 hours. Montpellier Sud de France TGV station is 10 minutes away, the centre of Montpellier 15. And 25 bedrooms wait for them on the estate.

How late does the party go on?

Until dawn: after dinner the party carries on in the great hall, and the estate sets the end at 5 am. Those sleeping on the estate only have the park to cross. For those staying in Montpellier or Carnon, we give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Where do we get ready?

At the château, in the bridal suite: 59 m², a bathroom with a bath and a shower, and a private terrace on the garden. The other one of you gets ready in another bedroom of the château, a few doors away.

Will our grandparents and the children be comfortable?

Yes. The estate is accessible for reduced mobility, with an adapted bedroom in the cottage and the large private car park on site. For families, two family rooms in the village and a play room for the children.

And if it rains?

Everything moves indoors: the chapel for an intimate ceremony, the château's salons for drinks, the 300 m² great hall for dinner and the party. To stay in the garden, a tent is possible too. We set the plan with the château during the visit.

Where does the name La Banquière come from?

The estate was first called La Blanquière. The family tells of an ancestor, married to a regent of the Banque de France, who often came by to check that all was in order: she was nicknamed the banker, and the name stuck. The estate has been in the family since 1834.
