Why we love Domaine Le Grand Belly

At the end of a drive of cypresses and lavender, 13th-century sheepfolds turned into stone houses, with 1,200 hectares of garrigue and vines all around. The estate all yours, a quarter of an hour from Avignon. Around fifty of your people sleep there, and in the morning you all meet again as neighbours.

  • 200

    guests at the table

    and as many for drinks

  • A whole hamlet, all yours

the estate privately hired: its mas, their terraces and the pool

  • Outdoor armchairs in the shade of the trees above the pool of Domaine Le Grand Belly

    A 120 m² pool

in the forest of Rochefort, for the next-day pool party

  • Practical

    • Around fifty beds

in the mas of the estate, each with its own terrace

    • A six-bedroom mas

to get ready among your people, its terrace facing the olive trees

    • 15 min from Avignon TGV

and from the A9 motorway; Avignon and the Pont du Gard 15 km away

  • Purple irises in the foreground, a tall cypress and an ochre stone mas behind, under a blue sky, Domaine Le Grand Belly
    Arriving between the cypresses
  • A bright bedroom in one of the mas of Domaine Le Grand Belly: a double bed under a white canopy, beams and two black armchairs
Getting ready in your own mas
  • The pool of Domaine Le Grand Belly lined with loungers, parasols and a white stretch tent, the wooded hills behind
    Drinks by the pool
  • A stone mas and its covered terrace seen across the lawn, between tall pines, Domaine Le Grand Belly
Dinner in the garden, facing the mas
  • An old limestone block carved with a human face, resting against a wall of Domaine Le Grand Belly
In an old wall, a face carved in stone
  • The pool of Domaine Le Grand Belly and its row of loungers, framed by the branches of a large tree
The next day, brunch by the pool

The area

Rochefort-du-Gard is a village of the Gard, west of Avignon, between the vineyards of Tavel and Lirac; its Notre-Dame-de-Grâce sanctuary is a listed historic monument. On Saturdays at 11 am, the chefs of Greater Avignon cook live at Les Halles d'Avignon. The Pont du Gard is 15 kilometres away, and the Gardon can be paddled by kayak.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French company for all-inclusive weddings. With Émilie and the whole team, we're already planning weddings for 2027 and 2028.

  • A French company, licensed for live events Your contract is governed by French law, and written in English too
  • Insured for professional liability
How much does a wedding at Domaine Le Grand Belly cost?

From €70,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you have it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once you agree, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, or something you add along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can't make it?

We replace them. They're our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd's. It covers cancelling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can't be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the estate directly?

You can, it's a lovely house. The estate rents you its spaces and its mas, and lets you choose your caterer. You then bring together the caterer, the drinks, the service, the flowers, the decor, the music, the photographer and the running of the day. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the estate keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

From 50 to 200 at the table, and as many for drinks. Around fifty sleep in the mas of the estate, the others in Avignon, a quarter of an hour away. From an all-on-site weekend to the big party, the estate adapts.

Which dates are still free?

The estate is open all year and hosts one wedding a day. Tell us your date, we check with Domaine Le Grand Belly and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes: on the grass in the shade of the old oak, or on the lavender terrace facing the estate. You write your own words, you choose who marries you, and your people gather all around.

Can we have our civil wedding in Rochefort-du-Gard?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the estate. Rochefort-du-Gard town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the estate.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Avignon TGV station is 15 minutes away, Paris 2 h 40 by TGV. Nîmes, Montpellier and Marseille airports are 30 minutes, 45 minutes and an hour away. And around fifty of your guests sleep on site.

Until what time can we dance?

As late as you like: the estate sets no closing time and no sound limit. The dance floor goes up outdoors, under the stars, with 1,200 hectares of garrigue around you.

And if it rains?

Dinner moves into the main courtyard, a 280 m² orangery under a great timber roof, with tall wrought-iron windows, by candlelight. The estate has a second indoor room, and a marquee can also go up in the garden.

How do our guests get back after the party?

Around fifty of them only have a few steps to their mas. The others stay in Avignon, a quarter of an hour away. We give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones, and the car park is on site.

Where do we get ready?

At the estate. One of you in the bridal suite, the other in another mas, your people next door and the ceremony a few steps away.

Will our grandparents be comfortable?

Yes: the estate is accessible to guests with reduced mobility, the car park is on site, and dogs are welcome. The grandparents can take a room in a mas a few steps from the party, and slip off to rest whenever they like.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.
